Ebay launched a website called http://www.kijiji.com reported the Wall Street Journal, which is a free classified ads website for the United States and Canada that will compete against Craigslist.
Kijiji covers classified ads for over 220 cities in all 50 states. They also have a link for Canada version too.
According to news report eBay bought a 25% stake in Craigslist back in 2004 from a previous employee. It sure looks like they have been spying on Craigslist and as they get their new website launched.
The Kijiji website appears to be so fresh that when you browse categories they are empty. Keep an eye out for this site as it will likely get promoted by eBay and get some traffic.
